Wednesday April 26
The workmen arrived at 7 a.m. sharp. Randy phoned the tree farm and ordered the
Methley plum tree for delivery. The lady there was supposed to call Randy back
to let him know what day the tree will be delivered, but she did not. When the
workmen left, they had finished framing all the paths and all the irrigation
and drainage lines were laid. Also the lawn area in the front yard, which had
been graded by the builder into a V-shape for surface drainage, was regraded to
be more flat since its drainage is now subterranean. How nice it will be to have
the lawn there without the gulch! As this was the last day before concrete, Jeff
decided to bury something under one of the pathways as a lark. He buried a Y2K
penny beneath where the new path will meet the driveway. One day when
archeologists dig this area up they will find the Y2K penny.
