Cord Board — Terminal & Schematic

With the relay frame open, we will see what else is inside.

We have here a wiring terminal to the left, the ends of the cords at the top, and a 25 watt light bulb on the right. In the event any excess voltage is introduced into the components, it is shunted safely to this bulb, which would burn it off by lighting up.

There also appears to be a night ringer wired in (but it just hangs by the wires, unattached to anything).

Here is a close-up of the wiring terminals for the lines and jacks. I wish I knew what went where...

Bingo! A schematic for those terminals! Now I know how this thing is wired.

The schematic is glued onto the wood, and I didn't want to damage it by trying to remove it. I really wanted to scan it, though. So instead I copied it all down, freehand, and then re-drew it on my computer. Here is the schematic, and more proof that it is indeed an Automatic Electric board. Using it, I was able to know how to connect our phone lines to the board.
